The Canton Tower Science & Technology Conference, an event focused on emerging technologies, will open its 2020 edition in Guangzhou, the capital of Guangdong province, on Oct 13-14, according to the organizers.

The conference will bring the world’s most innovative ideas and technologies to Guangzhou, and also attract enterprises, manufacturers and scientific research institutions to invest and settle in the city, according to Shi Pengfei, an official with the Guangzhou science and technology bureau.

The Guangzhou science and technology authority will join hands with IDG Asia to jointly host the event.

Guests from governments, international organizations, enterprises, and science and technology organizations will discuss topics related to emerging technologies such as 5G, the industrial internet and artificial intelligence during this year’s conference.

The conference will also concentrate on topics of poverty alleviation, caring for the elderly and public health, according to the organizers.
