Norwich City and Southampton will do battle on Friday evening in the third match since the Premier League’s return.

The 2019/20 season resumed earlier this week after sport around the world ground to a halt due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

In the opening match of today’s two fixtures, bottom team Norwich will attempt to begin clawing their way out of the relegation places by beating Southampton. Norwich lost their last match before the hiatus, although did knock Tottenham Hotspur out of the FA Cup in March.

Sam Byram is working his way back to fitness for Norwich, but this game has come to early for him.

The good news for Southampton is that Nathan Redmond is fit enough to feature against his former club. The bad news is that winger Moussa Djenepo will miss the match, as he was shown a straight red card in the defeat by Newcastle back in March.
