SHANGHAI – Gold futures closed higher Monday in daytime trading on the Shanghai Futures Exchange.

The most active gold contract for December 2020 delivery was up 2.74 yuan (39 US cents) to close at 431.4 yuan a gram.

The total trading volume for eight listed gold futures contracts on the exchange was 254,910 lots, with a turnover of about 110 billion yuan.

China launched gold futures in January 2008.
